The largest German band in recent years, Tokio Hotel, has achieved 10 times platinum, on four occasions reached number one in the singles charts and are so used to sold out concerts in most of their European tours. Bill Kaulitz and his twin brother, Tom formed the band in 2001 along with bassist Georg Listing and drummer Gustav Schafer. At just 13, they caught the attention of famous producers who have helped them improve their pop-rock formula. Since then their popularity has spread like wildfire. In 2008 they won 3 EMA awards.
