AWARD AT THE “MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS”

Tokio Hotel brings honor to Europe.

Well done, boys! At the “EMAs”, the band Tokio Hotel got an award.

At an award ceremony, which calls itself “Europe Music Awards”, one could assume that there are European acts who would end up taking the awards back home – but nope!

From Europe, at the MTV Awards 2010, there was only one winner. And their name was Tokio Hotel.

In the category “Best World Stage Performance” (best appearance on the show “MTV World Stage”) the four from Magdeburg were up with – and that can ever be proud of – against U.S stars like Pop-Chick Katy Perry and the rockers of Green Day.

The Pop honored their continent that could just be saved.

BUT EUROPE: WHERE ARE YOUR SUPERSTARS?

Apart from the Tokio Hotel boys, who dominated the American artist award exclusively. At the same time, some other European acts were nominated! Soul rapper Plan B, the British rockers Muse, and the Gorillaz, for example. But for the local artist who could only heat up a few audience: Audience votes from the total of 46 million that have been made in the run accounted for the majority of U.S. artists.

The mega star of the MTV Europe audience: Lady Gaga. The U.S. singer triumphed on Sunday evening with three MTV awards. The viewers from the music channel chose the 24 year old’s best singer and best Pop star and her hit “Bad Romance” for best song. Katy Perry reaped the award category with her clip for “California Gurls” as “Best Video”.

The remaining awards were divided between the Canadian teen heartthrob, Justin Bieber and acts like Linkin Park (Best Live Act), Thirty Seconds To Mars (Best Rock) and Paramore (Best Alternative). Eminem secured the award for best hip-hopper. The 23 year old singer Ke$ha may now call herself the best newcomer.
