ARTICLE: Tokio Hotel Takes Down 30STM (04.04.2015)

Tokio Hotel Takes Down Thirty Seconds To Mars To Become The Champs Of MTV’s Musical March Madness

'Basically you guys won again. Thank you so much for voting,' the band told MTV News.

Twice is just as nice…just ask Tokio Hotel.

In a fight to the finish, Tokio Hotel just inched past Thirty Seconds To Mars to claim their second MTV Musical March Madness title. The foursome have have dominated the competition since day one, easily moving on in each round, but faced their toughest battle in the final against 30STM.

Watch their video message here: https://instagram.com/p/1BXRKQSSga/

“We just heard that we won MTV’s Musical March Madness again,” Tom and Bill Kaulitz said in a video message sent to MTV. “Basically you guys won again. Thank you so much for voting. That’s crazy. We are super happy. We just came back from our tour in Europe — it was amazing. We already miss the stage so we got to hit the road pretty soon again and continue with part two. We can’t wait. Thank you so much for voting, thanks for this award, you guys are amazing you are the best fans in the world. Thank you so so much and we will see you guys on tour.”

Check out MTV's announcement on Tokio Hotel's MMM win!

The final round saw over 20 million votes, with Jared Leto and the guys giving it a good run, but the Tokio Hotel fans proved to be too much, taking 51% of the votes.

Check Out The Final Results Of Our Musical March Madness Bracket!

So what did the road to the championship look like for Tokio Hotel? In the first round, the “Run, Run, Run” group cruised past “Uptown Funk’s” Mark Ronson, which then had them facing off against 2013 MMM champion Ed Sheeran. We thought this would be a heated match-up but the loyal Aliens easily took Ed down getting 84% of the votes in round two. The guys then easily made it past Imagine Dragons before crushing Walk The Moon in the Final Four.

Tokio Hotel knows what it feels like to be an MMM champ since they took home the the title back in 2012 when they defeated Green Day.

It’s been a big week for the German band, who just released their brand-new music video for “Feel It All,” off their Kings Of Suburbia album, which takes a look at the lifestyles of misguided youth.

A big congrats goes out to Tokio Hotel for their impressive win and thanks to all the bands for making our sixth MMM tournament truly epic. But I want to give a big shout-out to all the fans who keep this going. With nearly 50 million votes cast throughout this tournament you have shattered our records and dazzled us with your dedication.

NOTICE: Tokio Hotel's YouTube Q&A (03.04.2015)

Fi Fourvor: Tom wieso warst du nicht öfter zu sehen?

Das Frage ich mich auch… !

Tom, why weren’t you seen more often?

Tom: I ask myself that same question, too.

BeyondBirthday1992: Do you think you’ll be ever able to top this video?

Tom: It’s gonna be hard but we'll try :-)

How was it to work with Swedish producers for this music video? :)

Tom: It was great working with Mattias. He was an amazing director and we were seeing eye to eye on everything. I couldn’t wish for a better director for this video.

Evelina Simsova: Georg celebrate the birthday in the family or in the circle of Tokio Hotel?

Georg: That’s the same!

Jula483: Bill did you like smashing bottle on this guy's head? Would you do it again, in real life? :P

Bill: It was a lot of fun and since I’m such an aggressive person :-) I'd totally do it again...

ashtraygirl98: Where u afraid of people's reaction to the video before it came out?

Bill: No. We were excited to share it. We were working on it with all our heart so we couldn’t wait for you guys to see it. It really is a passion project.

Micaela Victoria: Bill, which scene was the hardest part to shoot? and why? <3 b="">
Bill: The hardest was the crying scene.. It was the first time I really had to act and I wasn’t sure if I could pull that off right away in front of a camera in just a couple of minutes...

Taylor Houston Tiphaine: Gustav, what is your favorite beer in the world ?

Gustav: Sternburg Export B Abfüllung.

Giovanna Sabino: Georg, Gustav, what was your favorite part of the video?

Georg: Getting free drinks at the club set.

Bill: Pretty soon but it’s gonna be the same thing just without any blur.

Rapunzel Grimm: Exzellentes Video, Jungs! Schwieriges Thema stark umgesetzt! Bill, du spielst das ganz toll! Bemerkenswert!

Hast du Bock, auch einmal in Spielfilmen mitzuwirken? Gibt es da Pläne?

Bill: würde ich sehr gerne…wenn es der richtige film ist und die richtige rolle...

Excellent video, guys! It had a strong theme. Bill, you played it really well! Remarkable! Would you participate in movies? Are there plans?

Bill: I would very much like to… If it’s the right movie and right role.

Jula483: Bill would you like to direct someday some music video just by yourself? And did you like to film music videos that are like "short movies"? :)

Bill: I’d actually like to do that. I have so many ideas that it's gonna be hard to use it all for Tokio Hotel.

Theresia Schwarz: will you make a video on Stormy Weather?

Bill: It’s not planned so far.

Olga Krieger: Bill hi guys! how long the clip was filmed?

Bill: We shot two days in Berlin.

Giorgia Faranda: will you ever film a video starring Georg as main role? Georg would you ever do that?

Tom: Never!

AlienVK: Bill, You take some classes of theater to act like this or all its natural? You did it great!!!!

Bill: Thank you… I never took any class. I was pretty nervous to do it actually.

JessicaRiccumeni: Hey guys why are you still awake at this hour? party night? ahahahaha

Bill: Staying up for you guys. :-)

Ornella L: Tom, we are still waiting for a photo on Instagram! ;)

Tom: Still waiting to have more followers than Bill.

xxxGiadinaxxx: What do you think about this 1st part of tour? :)

Bill: It was the best tour ever. We had so much fun. I think we enjoyed this tour more than any other tour before. We can’t wait for part 2

Loukia Grammenou: What's your next plan for your career? FIA part 2 maybe?

Bill: Yep…gonna announce new dates SOON :-)

Letizia Cella: Bill, why did you decide to play the main role in the video and not someone else?

Bill: The others wanted me to do it cause they are too shy.

Lila_Skull: The first thought in the morning when you shot the video?

Bill: Can I cry in front of a camera? I’m nervous!!! I hope this is gonna work out…

Sara Kapovor: Tom and Georg, what do you think about Torg?

The question is what do you guys think about “toll”?

Tokio Hotel: I think #torg is #toll

Letizia Cella: Why was the video shoot in Berlin?

Bill: We liked the rawness of the city. Berlin is my favorite place in Germany the realness and roughness perfect for the video…

Carla Alarcos: The toilet scene will be better with TORG. You know right? Or BIGU!

Bill: Hahaha start a petition. :)

To celebrate his 18th birthday, he got a tattoo on his left inner forearm which reads Freiheit 89 (Freedom 89) which celebrates the year he was born and the fact that he is now, at 18, an adult. One on the left side of his torso. The tattoo says “Wir hören nie auf zu schreien. Wir kehren zum Ursprung zurück.” which means “We’ll Never Stop Screaming. We’re Going Back To The Roots.” in English. He also tattooed his entire left hand (consisting of a skeleton hand, a bird, and the number 0630, which was his time of birth), a chest tattoo, a mermaid tattoo "Lost In A Dream", a tattoo of a heart on his left upper chest, and a cross tattoo on his right lower arm.

He’s proud of being a good kisser and that his tongue piercing doesn't get in the way while kissing. He’s been single for 8 years now, and hasn't kissed any girl since then. He’s into true love and love at first sight and wants to fall in love again. He wants a girl that loves him for him and not his money. Falling in love with a fan isn't impossible for him as she could understand him better, and that he has to spend lots of time with the band. He says the "one" is out there for him and only time will tell when he meets her and he’d like her to live in a different city or country. Personal Quotes:

We are very different yet alike. We don't look like twins. But we are soul mates. When I look at Bill I know instantly what he thinks. I can feel it when he has a problem, even if he is not with me. I cannot imagine that I could ever trust a girl like I trust Bill. – About Bill in an interview in March 2007

I couldn't live without Bill. We do everything together, we tell each other everything, and we are inseparable. - About his twin brother

In my opinion, an important part of a relationship and extremely beautiful. - On sex

A nice accidental, but not everything in life. - On money

Friendship is nice, you need friends and it is hard to find friends. There are many fake friends and they shouldn't be reliable. - On friendship

I have been in love already, but I don't think I have ever really loved somebody. Love is a very rare and beautiful thing. But it can also be bitter if the other one doesn't love you back. - On love, in an interview in 2005

There is not so much bad about it because we both developed into two extremely different directions, so... It would suck if we'd look the same, but this is not the case. But actually it only has advantages. Because we get along pretty well and have a lot in common therefore there is not much bad to say about it. - On what is good or bad about having a twin brother

I thought it was cool. When I was younger I had shorter hair and at some point I got tired with always styling them. I wanted to have low-maintenance hair that just sits right when I wake up. That's when I let my hair grow and got it dreaded. - On why he has dreadlocks

I wouldn't change anything on my body. I think every person has to be the way he is and one shouldn't change anything about oneself.

The best birthday present I ever got was 10 minutes after I was born.

Me, I'm still a rascal. Inside, I am still the kid I was. He (Bill) guides me everyday.

On discussions within the band: Of course we fight sometimes! But our friendship is stronger than the disputes.

I really think we can fall in love several times in a lifetime and that, luckily, several people are made for us.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Q&A with Tom Kaulitz

What would somebody have to give to you, so that you wear Bill’s clothes once?
Well, I can imagine something with Angelina Jolie. No, nonsense. I would never wear Bill’s clothes, and to be honest, I don’t think anyone would like to see me like that.

If you’d have a girlfriend, would you hide that from the press, or would you admit it openly?
But I always talk about my girlfriends. I have one or two now and then. But it doesn't really last longer than one day.

Do your friends and family have nothing to say about you talking about sex all the time, and about the fact that you’re sleeping with groupies?
Why should they? Other parents would like for their children to talk about it. And this way I don’t have to lie.

How can someone provoke you? What gets on your nerves most?
I’m not that easy to provoke. I think that there’s only one person who can really do that. This person is 10 minutes younger than me, and his name starts with B. I can’t say how he sees this.

How many guitars do you have? Do you name them?
I don’t really know how many there are… I think there are about 20 and I don’t give them names. But Georg calls his base “Mr. Sandberg”. It’s his only friend anyway. (He’s crazy)

You said that you and Bill often have the same dreams. Which was the most embarrassing/beautiful/strange dream you ever had?
I think this is the first question I don’t really have an answer for. And that’s because I always forget about what I dream.

What was the most sordid lie you’ve ever invented?
I never lie! I hope everyone knows that!

Do you like to remember about school, about school trips and so on? If so you, what did you especially liked then?
There was only one school trip I went to. I pretended to be sick for the others. I don’t really like to remember about school. I hated it! School trips were a change to the awful everyday school-life. You could have many girlfriends there, that’s the only positive thing I can remember.

Do you have any habits (do you speak while sleeping for example)?
Maybe I do speak while sleeping. I can’t really tell… You should ask the others about it. Otherwise I like leaving things behind in different places, and things which remain there for good.

Is there still a dream you would like to come true or are you perfectly happy?
I’m really happy…Whenever I express some dreams they probably sound stupid, but I wish to be as successful as now for as long as possible, and to see as many countries as possible together with my boys.

What goes to your mind during concerts when you make such grimaces?
Grimaces? I think that, if you play music and you are in your element, you don’t have your face expressions under control. You don’t think of anything… You just play!

Georg gets teased a lot by the twins due to his clumsiness. He also likes sleeping naked. He currently has a girlfriend whom he's been with since 2009.

Personal Quotes

On how he would create a romantic date: I would just try to be who I am and not put on any fancy cloths to impress the girl. I mean obviously I am very happy if a girl dresses up for me but I also don’t want her to pretend to be someone she’s not.

To create a romantic mood, I would take her out to a beautiful restaurant. Well, now that I think about it, I would probably prepare a meal myself - that’s more intimate. It might taste better in a restaurant but my pasta is definitely also worth a try!
